Tokyo Olympics: First gold of Day 15 to China

Day 15 is already studded with an Olympic best and a gold at the Sea Forest Waterway. China already leading the medal standings in the Games has started off the day winning gold in the women's canoe double 500m. Chinese power duo XU Shixiao and SUN Mengya had an easy-breezy win dominating the field in the Canoe Sprint gold event.

World champions Xu and Sun, set Olympic best time on Friday resetting their own at 1:55.495 seconds for their maiden Olympic title. Liudmyla Luzan and Anastasiia Chetverikova of Ukraine clocked 1:57.499 to claim silver behind the Chinese catering to their reigning European champions title. While the Two-time world champions Laurence Vincent-Lapointe and Katie Vincent of Canada took the bronze in 1:59.04, it's China that made the headline for the day adding up to a huge 37 gold number for the country. The medal pouring continues for the scoreboard leaders to turn the 2021 Games historic with many events to come.
