Jason Kenny takes his seventh Olympic Gold

Kenny becomes the first Briton to win seven Olympic gold medals. Kenny defended his title in men's keirin with a spectacular show, but Laura, his wife could not match Jason and ended her reign as women's omnium champion. Laura is Team GB’s most successful female athlete but today she finished sixth in the event and failed to secure the omnium title.

On the other hand, Jason celebrates his ninth Olympic medal and sprinted clear with three laps to take the title back. The 33-year-old previously won silver in team sprint but even though he could not defend his individual sprint title, he is still GB's most decorated Olympian. He even surpassed his former teammate Chris Hoy. He finished 0.763 seconds earlier than Malaysia's Azizulhasni Awang who took the silver and Netherlands' reigning world champion Harrie Lavreysen won the bronze.
